Renovation of townhouse duplex for a young and growing family
A young couple occupied a comfortable, two-bedroom duplex on the upper stories of an historic townhouse in Amsterdam's Overtoombuurt. With a second child on the way, they asked if there was a way to create a third bedroom for her. The 4th-story plan was reconfigured to capture area previously lost to hallways and to excessively deep rooms, making each space more efficient and usable, and creating the third bedroom plus closets for the other two.
